Creative Scotland is accepting applications for the Youth Music Initiative (YMI) Programme.

What is it?

The programme aims to create high-quality music-making opportunities for children and young people aged 0 to 25 years and help them achieve their potential.

What funding is available?

There are three strands to the programme:

  1. School-based music-making. This is a targeted fund for local authorities in Scotland. You can find more information about this on the Creative Scotland website.
  2. Access to music-making. Organisations and individuals can apply for funding worth between £1,000 and £40,000.
  3. Strengthening youth music. This gives support to individuals, organisations and networks to undertake strategic action or training that will strengthen the youth music sector in Scotland. Organisations and individuals can apply for funding worth between £1,000 and £20,000.
How do I apply?

Applications are being accepted for ‘Access to music-making’ and ‘Strengthening youth music’.

The deadlines for applications are:

  • 4th June 2018
  • 20th August 2018
  • 14th November 2018.
