What is it?
The Arts Council England has launched a new fund to support high quality creative writing in schools. Successful applicants will receive funding for a professional writer to deliver workshops and writer-in-residence projects to children at the transition between primary and secondary school (ages 8 to 14).
Who can apply?
It is likely that the total of £1.2 million funding will be invested in 3 main projects over a 3 year period. This means that grants of up to £600,000 are available. Some match funding is required.
Partnerships are welcome to apply. The lead organisation can be: limited company, community interest company, registered charity, limited liability partnership, statutory organisation, including local authority. The lead must be an arts, cultural and/or educational organisation with significant experience and expertise in delivering arts and cultural education programmes.
Projects should focus on the priority areas of the North and South West of England.
How do I apply?
There is an online application form to complete. Full guidance notes can be found on the Arts Council website.
The deadline for applications is midday, 8th July 2015.
