Let Teachers Shine is back for 2018 and is now accepting applications.

What is it?

This is an excellent opportunity for teachers who have brilliant ideas to help disadvantaged children succeed in English, maths or science. There is a prize fund of £180,000 available.

The judges are looking for ideas that are innovative, target economically disadvantaged children and can be scaled up.

The priority areas for support are:

  1. Ready for school: improving the school readiness of Reception aged children, with a priority on language and communication skills
  2. Bridging the gap: supporting vulnerable children who may not meet Age Related Expectations at primary school to make better progress at secondary school
  3. Flying high: supporting high attaining students to build on their achievements at primary school and stay on a high attaining trajectory during the first few years at secondary school
  4. Educational technology projects, but they need to complement or add value to previous technology grants made by Let Teachers Shine.
Who can enter?

Any qualified, practising teacher working in England can enter.

How do I apply?

There is an online application form to complete. Please read the guidance notes carefully to help you write a good application.
