The aim of the fund is to help communities in the UK to generate renewable energy and become environmentally and financially sustainable.
What is available?
There is a total fund of £300,000 available. Grants of up £12,000 will be awarded to one community group within each M&S region. There will also be funding of £20,000 to split between the most inspiring and innovative projects. There will be a public vote to help decide the winners.
Grants can be spent on capital costs relating to your project.
Who can apply?
The Fund is open to any not-for-profit organisation in the UK that operates its own premises or has land/a site secured for the project. Your project must make a difference to the local community.
This could include:
- Scout and Guides groups
- Village or community hall associations
- Sports and recreation clubs
- Parish or Town Councils
- Local action or interest groups.
How do I apply?
There is an online application form to complete. Applications close on 23rd June 2017. You will need development permission and/or planning permission in place when you apply.
