What is it?

Round 8 of Sport England’s Protecting Playing Field programme is now open. It is part of Sport England’s £28 million investment of National Lottery funding to create new, and improve existing, community sports fields. Funding can be used to create new natural turf pitches or improve existing ones that need levelling or drainage works.

Who can apply?

Applicants from the voluntary, community and education sector can apply for grants of between £10,000 and £65,000. Local authorities can apply for grants of up to £100,000.

Schools and colleges will be asked to provide 30% partnership funding towards project costs. Local authorities will be required to provide match funding on a pound for pound basis.

How do I apply?

You can apply online. Guidance notes can be found on the Sport England website.

Round 8 is now open and will close at 5pm on 9 November 2015.
