Schools in Birmingham can apply for a bursary from the National Association for Environmental Education (NAEE).
The bursary is worth up to £400 and can be used to help schools take pupils to outdoor centres for hands-on learning opportunities in the natural environment. The bursary can help cover centre fees and transport costs. Schools will also receive a year’s NAEE membership.
You can use your bursary for a visit to one of the following five eligible centres:
- Birmingham Botanical Gardens
- Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park
- Mount Pleasant School Farm, Kings Norton
- Martineau Gardens, Priory Lane, Edgbaston
- The Ackers, Small Heath.
Priority is given to schools where access to green spaces is limited.
Applications are considered twice a year. The next deadline is 14th October 2016 for visits taking place in the Spring and Summer terms of 2017.
For more details, please visit the NAEE website.
Good luck!
