Grants for musical instruments and more!

The Universal Music UK Sound Foundation (which used to be known as the EMI Music Sound Foundation) is an independent music education charity, established in 1997. It supports music-making activities for young people and schools.

What grants are available?

  • Individual Awards. Individuals who are in full time education and are either having regular music lessons from a qualified teacher, or studying music at school/college, are able to apply for funding towards the cost of musical instruments/equipment to further their music education.
  • School Awards. Schools can apply for funding towards the cost of musical resources. (Please note that this does not cover the cost of staffing costs for the teaching of the National Curriculum or peripatetic music lessons).
  • Teacher Awards. School music teachers delivering the national curriculum can apply for funding towards one off music training courses (e.g. CPD) up to £1,500.
