Sport receives a funding boost in Northern Ireland

What is it?

Sport Northern Ireland has released details of a new Facilities Fund. It will invest £17.5m funding into sports facility projects over the next five years through three strands.

The first strand is Single Facility is for single-sport facilities that will increase participation within the club structure.

The second strand is Multi Facility for multi-sport facilities that will increase participation across local communities.

The third strand is Performance Facility. This will fund performance sport facilities which meet the needs of community participants and high performance athletes within the same multi-sport environment.

Single Facility Funding: How do I apply?

The Single Facility round is now open to schools, education authorities, voluntary sports clubs, community associations, governing bodies and charities.

The minimum award available is £10,000 and the maximum is £100,000 for any project.
