grants for school scienceThis is an opportunity for schools in Hartlepool, Lincolnshire, Merthyr Tydfil, Middlesbrough, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Sunderland and West Dunbartonshire to apply for a science grant.

What is available?

Grants are available for science projects in schools. There are different grants depending on the type of schools:

  • Main grants of up to £500 for primary schools (that have both infants and junior classes). Schools can also apply for a grant for gardening resources of up to £350 or a combined science and gardening grant of up to £500. Grants can be used for science weeks, science related school trips, science equipment and science subscriptions.
  • Half grants of up to £250 are available for infant and junior schools.
  • One-off grants of £350 are available to nursery schools and nursery classes within schools.

How do I apply?

There is a simple application process and you are asked to contact the grant manager in your area for a copy of the form. You will need to provide a brief description of your project, a breakdown of costs, a project date and pupil numbers.
